SPCA Appreciation Weeks

Animal care can sometimes be a thankless job, but even the smallest donations and support can make a world of difference to an animal in need, which is why it is so crucial for us to acknowledge and celebrate our animal heroes.

Appreciation Weeks is our way of giving thanks to the many individuals and groups that contribute to the advancement of animal welfare, both at the forefront and behind the scenes. Each week, we will focus on a different group of animal heroes and dive into their stories:

Members and Donors

Contrary to popular belief, the SPCA is not government-run. Like any other shelter, we rely on generous support and donations from the general public. Without the monetary support of our members and donors, we would not be able to continue our animal welfare efforts.

Volunteers

Volunteers play a vital role in sharing the ever-increasing workload by dedicating their valuable time, allowing us to focus on areas that need our attention the most. These volunteers range from Foster Parents and Dog Walkers who help care for our rescue animals, to skill-based contributors who support the execution of different welfare initiatives, and students who actively engage in the subject of animal welfare.

Animal Care Professionals

Without our inspectors, vets and animal care staff, none of this would be possible. Many of these professionals provide front-line, round-the-clock care for our animals, often under highly stressful conditions. It is thanks to their tenacity and expert knowledge that we can continue to strive for better animal welfare.

To spice up the fun, we have arranged different handicraft workshops and an exciting photo contest that's open to all. As we express our gratitude in creative ways, the contest also offers a chance to win some enticing prizes.

And for those who love to shop, special promotions at our retail shops are on the cards for you to explore.

If you're seeking a more educational experience, the Pet Care+ training course provides the opportunity to learn first-hand from our animal care professionals and gain the critical knowledge needed for our work.
